User Conference

Brought to you by CampBrain

Oct 11+12 2018 // Toronto

  • You are working with CampBrain's Web version or you are thinking about converting to it.
  • It is probably the single piece of software you use most in your day! One little nugget of new knowledge can have a big impact on your daily routine.
  • You don't usually get a lot of opportunity to network, bounce ideas around and learn from your camp peers.
  • You want to hear about and see what we are working on now…and you want to contribute to the software's growth.
  • You sometimes wonder if you are getting the most from CampBrain – you feel like there are features you are not using.
  • You want to excel in your role, provide exceptional service to your customers and work efficiently within your camp team.
  • You want to get the most out of this critical tool, CampBrain.

If any of this sounds familiar…

This is WHY you should attend BRAINSTORM 2018! It is the one opportunity to learn from other camp peers, chat one-on-one with CampBrain staff and truly increase your knowledge. And have some fun too!

20+ sessions + panels // One-on-one sessions with support staff // Best practices from other CampBrain users // Future feature discussion + direction // Meet the CampBrain team // Be the best Camp Administrator

"It was fantastic. It was an opportunity to network with like-minded people and to share and learn together. Looking forward to next year already!"

- Blaine Seamone, TMS Discovery Day Camp

We will spend 2 days at the beautiful Cathedral Centre, located on the east side of Toronto's downtown. Close to great restaurants and sites, you are very conveniently located.

Pre Event // Wednesday, October 10, 2018

4:30-6:30 Walking Tour
6:00-7:30 Drinks and Appetizers at the CampBrain Office

Interested in some of the history of Toronto?
Then bring your walking shoes and show up a bit earlier at our offices for a tour of Toronto, ending right back where we started for some well-deserved appetizers and drinks! But don’t sweat it if a walking tour isn’t for you, head straight to our offices at 6:00pm for a very informal and light evening to see where we work, chat with Brainers and start the conference off right.

A highlight of participants BRAINSTORM is always their One-on-One session. It is time that you get with a Brainer where they will delve completely into your organization's configuration. This is a perfect time to come ready with all your specific questions based on your unique setup. Remember to sign up for a spot - this will be one of your biggest takeaways!

"I had a blast! I thought it was so well organized and professionally done. I was able to take away so much new information and have already started applying it to our application process. It was eye opening to meet admins from across North America and see the unique ways they utilize the software. You did a wonderful job of balancing professional development and fun. Thank you!!"

- Sarah Facey, Camp Awakening

You are coming to the conference to learn, right?! Well, we will deliver! Panels of camp admins and group discussions will enable peer-to-peer learning. Workshops will be used to promote real hands-on learning (bring your laptop!). And, of course, sometimes we will teach new concepts, lecture-style. We have provided lots of time for one-on-one sessions to review your specific setup and questions (this is a much-LOVED aspect each year!).

Here’s a sense of some of the focus areas:

  • Beginner stream - a series of workshops that teach the basics to the new user
  • Attendance (camper check in/out) - the Product team will walk through the latest addition (coming Sept 2018)
  • The year in review - our Development team will review what was released in the past year plus some of the new stuff on its way
  • Using CB in the summer - we will separate into 2 groups - day camps/schools and overnight camps - and discuss the best features in CB for use during the summer
  • Going Live checklist - we’ll review everything you need to know before going live to your community and you will walk away with a checklist in hand
  • Debrief summer 2018 - what worked and what did not in summer 2018? Bring your list, let’s review, discuss, compare and find great solutions
  • Medical/Health Center - listen to a panel of your peers chat about how they use the medical form and health center
  • Financial/Accounting - a walk-through of how to use CB’s financial reports for the beginners plus a more in-depth group discussion on all things financial for the more experienced
  • Ad-hoc reporting - always wanted to build your own reports? Bring your laptop because that is what you will do here
  • The BEST reports - meet the reporting specialists and see the best of the best in reporting, both standard and custom reports
  • Send great emails - in this workshop, you will actually design your own layouts and templates
  • Intro to the conference center - if you are a new user or your camp does not use this module, come check it out
  • A parent’s perspective - see the online registration portal from the parent’s/registrant’s perspective and learn how to assist them
  • Staff - let’s discuss best practices for this module
  • An in-depth review of camper financial reports
  • Stats, analysis and more numbers - use CB and other tools to determine how your camp is doing
  • All things data - forms, configurable fields, data storage and how best to get it out
  • 10 tools - beyond CB, see what tools you might want to incorporate into your daily routine to work faster and smarter

"Wonderful conference! Great content, interesting sessions, good variety of topics and information to cover. Presenters did a great job presenting the information so it was easy too understand and were open to all questions. I said it once, but I am happy to say it again...Well Done CampBrain!! Thank you!"

- Angie Matthews, Camp Couchiching
