New Activity Scheduling Module Released

In April 2005, CampBrain released its newest module: Activity Scheduling. Having spent many years customizing scheduling modules to meet camps’ specific needs, this module represents its first activity scheduling component built for all camps as a general addition to CampBrain. The module is completely integrated with the Camper Registration System and will be available to any camp wanting to use it for Summer 2005.

The purpose of the module is to facilitate the scheduling of activities by period for campers, staff and/or cabins/groups. If you need to create schedules for your campers and cabins and produce the appropriate reports, this module is for you.

In terms of functionality, here is a brief listing of its features:

• Establish as many schedules for a season as you want
• Schedule by individual camper or cabin/group
• Choose the appropriate sessions and define the number of periods and days for each schedule
• Create unlimited activities and define parameters for each activity (e.g. capacity, age specific, gender specific, etc.). These parameters may be unique for each period if you want
• Specify which activities are available for each period
• Schedule campers into activities for each period-this can be done manually one camper at a time or automatically by CampBrain
• Schedule staff as well
• The module automatically monitors capacity limits, availability options and all other parameters that you have set for each activity so that campers are scheduled in appropriate activities
• Take advantage of fantastic “summary” screens which provide excellent overviews of the schedules (e.g. summary of activities by period displaying how many campers are scheduled in each)

From a reporting perspective, you will find some excellent standard reports included with the module:

• Camper Schedule: basic listing of activities by period for each camper
• Cabin/Group Schedule: basic listing of activities by period for each cabin/group
• Staff Schedule: summary of staff and their schedules
• Master Schedule: displays all campers or cabins/groups alphabetically along with their schedules
• Activity Schedule: displays campers or cabins/groups scheduled for the activity by period
