CampBrain Releases Version 4.14


CampBrain releases Version 4.14. Committed to constant improvement of the software, CampBrain has made some significant enhancements to the software. Generally, clients receive upgrades on a semi-annual or annual basis to ensure they have the latest features and to ensure compatibility with the latest technology.

Some of the new features include:

New Online Registration – CampBrain’s brand new Online Registration product is designed to increase your operational effectiveness, provide you with meaningful and relevant information and decrease your overall administration time. This tool provides your customers the ability to interact, complete forms and transact online. All administrative aspects of this new service are handled here at CampBrain, from putting camp forms online, to providing technical support and assisting you through the process, to pricing and billing for the service. Features of the new online registration include: putting your application forms online, processing payments, downloading directly to the CampBrain database, making supplemental forms (pdf’s) available for registrants to download, registrants may save their work and complete their registration at a later time, easily updated online capacity, and customized registration message.

Enhanced Search Function - All of the Search (Find) functions in CampBrain have been completely revamped to allow you to choose both which fields to search against and which fields to display in the results window. It has never been so easy to search before. You know an e-mail or part of a phone number but not the name – no problem!

Camper Registration Enhanced – In addition to validating your campers’ registration by age range and gender, we have now also added grade validation. You may now set specific grades for each of your sessions. CampBrain validates each camper that you register to ensure they meet your criteria. If the camper does not meet your specifications, the user is notified and asked if they choose to proceed anyway.

Cabinizer Improvements – The very popular Cabinizer has been improved to make your bunk/group assignments even easier. You have greater control in customizing the way you view the Cabinizer screen: you may now choose which columns to display in the camper list, and may move and sort the columns, and you can click and drag the splitter bar between the camper list and cabin list to change the widths of each area. Assigning your campers with their cabin mate requests is now even easier, as simply clicking on a camper triggers a search for their cabin mate requests in the same view. With the original camper and their cabin mate requests highlighted, you may hold the Ctrl key and click and drag the campers into a cabin altogether.

Microsoft Outlook™ Export Utility – For users of the Outdoor and Conference Center module, this new utility allows you to export selected group information to your Microsoft Outlook™ calendar. You may send the information as often as you like – CampBrain will keep the details updated. With the group information copied to your Microsoft Outlook™ calendar you can now synchronize all of this information with your Personal Digital Assistant (PDA).

New standard reports – One of the greatest advantages of CampBrain remains the incredible reporting possibilities. We devoted much time and effort to enhance our standard report list. Standard reports represent the list of reports that are included in the software when it is first purchased. All of the reports are fully customizable and you can add as many new ones as you want.

More to Camper History – Building on the existing camper history module, we added functionality in camper reporting to enable customers to do more in-depth historical analysis – great for deeper alumni tracking!

Map Addresses - Click on the “map” link beside any address in the software and CampBrain will launch your internet browser and plot that address in a popular mapping program. For day camps with daily bussing requirements, this builds on our strong day camp transportation module.

Happy Campers!

After evaluating other software companies, Camp Conrad-Chinnock chose CampBrain. My evaluations indicated, which is now verified by using CampBrain, that report and data customizations are easy to change since they are based in Microsoft Access; the staff, especially Rob Carmichael and Shane Miskin, are incredibly helpful, responsive, and assist me with modifying reports and data to meet my camp's needs; and I am able to use the database for my fundraising activities. One element I did not initially consider was how CampBrain streamlined various procedures (cabin lists, store operations, bus lists, mailing labels, special needs information, etc.), which saves my camp many hours of labor and eliminates inaccurate reports.
